Husein Madhavji

Born and raised in London, Ontario, Husein Madhavji began his television career as a Floor Director for Citytv's Weekend News, while obtaining his degree from Ryerson University's Radio and Television Arts Program.

After graduating from college, he stepped in front of the camera at A-Channel Winnipeg as an Entertainment Reporter and Anchor.

In 2003, Husein took his talent south of the border, where he spent two years as an Entertainment Correspondent for KMAX's Good Day Sacramento in California. 2005 saw Husein returning home to co-host the daily entertainment show, Star! Daily, a position he held for the next two years. Today, Husein is an Entertainment Correspondent for Star!, Canada's Entertainment Channel.

Having interviewed many of Hollywood's top luminaries, including: Samuel L. Jackson, Penélope Cruz, Beyoncé Knowles, Regis Philbin, John Legend, Elizabeth Hurley and even Borat (Sacha Baron Cohen), Husein is front of the line in the world of showbiz, music and fashion.

His talent and experience extends far beyond the camera lens. He produced From Tragedy to Triumph a documentary on the Ugandan-Asian settlement in Canada, which was used at its 30th anniversary on Parliament Hill in Ottawa.

When Husein is not busy bringing viewers the latest from red carpets, he can be seen co-hosting events, such as, Live! At the Genies, eTalk Star! Schmooze, Live Earth and Canada's New Year's Eve Bash.  Husein also enjoys singing, songwriting and is an avid guitar player - with over 40 songs penned and tucked away.

An advocate of philanthropic work, particularly in international development to eradicate global poverty, Husein participated in Toronto's World Partnership Walk and is an active supporter of the Aga Khan Foundation, a charity which provides aid to underprivileged persons in both Asia and Africa.
